Handling

Hamsters are very small and delicate animals. Humans on the other hand are huge, and can pose a threat. So naturally, hamsters tend to be very afraid of humans... If they don't open up to you right away, be patient! Some hamsters take up to weeks, or even months to be tamed! Be ready to be an acute observer in their lives!

Entertainment

Hamsters can become bored! After all, there's only so much space in an enclosure! Be sure to get them a well-sized hamster wheel, perhaps a sand bath, toys, and LOTS of treats. If your hamster grows accustomed to you, you could also take them out of the enclosure and put them in a hamster-safe room for free-roaming.
